Cretex Medical employees attended the 2026 Shape Memory and Superelastic Technologies (SMST) Conference and Exposition in La Jolla. SMST is uniquely focused on the manufacturing, design, and practical application of shape memory materials, including Nitinol.

The conference brings together the world’s top experts and leading-edge companies to share insights, research, and real-world results. Throughout the event, Cretex Medical team members connected with attendees from across the industry and answered questions about the company’s experience and capabilities at the Cretex Medical booth on the exposition floor.

In addition to networking opportunities, attendees participated in several technical sessions, including this year’s keynote address focused on shape memory medical applications. The event provided valuable insight into emerging technologies, evolving industry standards, and advancements in Nitinol manufacturing and testing.

• Principal Quality Engineer Kevin Becker presented “Practical Considerations for Testing Nitinol Medical Device Components to ASTM F2082.”
