Cretex Medical | rms Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Additive Manufacturing, Ryan Kircher, was recently honored with the DINO award at the 2025 AMUG Conference.

Cretex Medical is proud to celebrate Ryan Kircher, Principal Manufacturing Engineer at Cretex Medical | rms, for receiving the Distinguished INnovator Operators Award (DINO) at the 2025 Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) Conference. The DINO is one of the most prestigious honors in the additive manufacturing (AM) industry, awarded annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional expertise, leadership, and contributions to the AM community.

AMUG, an organization committed to advancing the applications and understanding of additive manufacturing technologies, presents the DINO award to individuals who embody the spirit of innovation, mentorship, and hands-on excellence. Nominees are carefully evaluated on their technical knowledge, industry involvement, commitment to sharing insights, and their support of the AMUG community through presentations, volunteering, and collaboration.

9adde673-39cc-4ab7-8243-3ce8ae625cf2Ryan's recognition as a DINO recipient reflects not only his technical mastery but also his dedication to educating others and advancing the AM field. Since joining rms in 2021, Ryan has consistently pushed the boundaries of what's possible with additive technologies. His work includes presenting at industry-leading conferences on topics such as osseointegration, Profilometry-based Indentation Plastometry (PIP) testing of metals, and the mechanical performance of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V under various conditions.

In addition to his technical contributions, Ryan serves on the Executive Board of ASTM F42, the global committee responsible for developing and maintaining international standards for additive manufacturing. His leadership in this role helps shape the future of AM technology and its applications across industries.

Recipients of the DINO award are not notified in advance, making the moment even more special. At this year’s AMUG Conference in April, Ryan was surprised and honored to be called on stage to receive his DINO. Carl Dekker, a member of the DINO Selection Committee, shared the following about Ryan’s selection:

“His leadership in prior and current positions has led to organizations that have grown their footprint and success in additive manufacturing. Ryan’s efforts to share these advancements in conference presentations, standards developments, and open discussions help people advance their skills. These are examples of the traits we look for when evaluating DINO candidates.”

Ryan joins an elite group of 2025 recipients whose companies are globally recognized for innovation and excellence. This year’s other DINO winners include:

  • Amy Alexander, Mayo Clinic
  • Dan Braley, Boeing Global Services
  • Patrick Gannon, Ricoh USA, Inc.
  • Dallas Martin, Toyota
  • Brennon White, General Motors

When Ryan was asked how he felt about winning the award, he said:

"I'm humbled of course. I really want to recognize the whole Additive team here at rms. I'm privileged to work with so many talented people. The DINO is really a reflection on our entire team, not just me."

Ryan’s DINO award is a testament to his commitment to innovation, excellence, and collaboration. We’re honored to have such a forward-thinking leader on the Cretex Medical | rms team, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.
